Dr. Kaplan is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland at College Park. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association. His research spans the areas of political economy, applied microeconomics, and empirical macroeconomics. This semester he teaches ECON 175: Inequality: Determinants and Policy Remedies and ECON 326: Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis.
