IESC is a private, not-for-profit organization that promotes economic growth in developing countries by supporting the development of private enterprises, business support organizations and public institutions. IESC’s New Business Department focuses on developing overarching new business strategies for IESC and identifies and pursues new business opportunities, including responding to requests for proposals for international development project funding. IESC’s internship program is open to students in graduate and undergraduate programs. Students that have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program within 6 months of applying are eligible for the internship. Previous internship(s) and/or professional work experience preferred. Strong research and writing skills, and an ability to work independently are needed. Interest in knowledge of USAID policies and procedures is a plus.

Duties:
- Conduct research on trends in international development and upcoming programs, and distribute research in concise reports.
- Conduct research on the competitive landscape for upcoming business opportunities.
- Support the New Business Department with the production of proposals for new international development programs. Specific responsibilities to include support with coordination, research, drafting proposal annexes, and taking and distributing notes.
- Provide administrative support to the New Business Department as needed, including setting up meetings, taking and distributing notes
- Other tasks as assigned.

- Interest in learning about international development generally and pursuing a career in the field.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of people at all levels, both U.S. and international.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrable ability to prioritize among multiple competing requests.
- Able to produce high quality work under deadline.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; strong Internet research capabilities
- Experience working on budgets in Microsoft Excel preferred
- U.S. citizen or eligibility to work in the U.S.
