The ideal candidate would be someone with a background or an interest in public policy or health care. Students studying public administration, public policy, and/or public health are particularly encouraged to apply. Strong organizational skills, communication (oral and written) skills, analytical ability, and dependability are a must.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Track congressional action related to appropriations and health policy, take notes and identify statements or amendments that run counter to administration priorities.
- Review and analyze agency budget submissions, legislation, Congressional testimony, strategic management documents, and other information related to assigned areas.
- Assist in the drafting of policy papers, performance goals, and financial analyses.
- Coordinate the development and review of Budget materials.
