Research Assistants
We are recruiting Research Assistants to start in summer 2027. These full-time, two-year, on-site positions offer salary and benefits, including tuition assistance. Research Assistants work with the Board’s Ph.D. economists on cutting-edge research and policy issues while developing skills for graduate study or other careers.
Applications are being accepted until October 15, 2026. This will be our only application window this hiring cycle.
We seek candidates with strong academic records that include intermediate or advanced economics coursework and solid foundations in mathematics and statistics, as well as excellent communication skills. Preferred additional qualifications include research experience, coding skills, and familiarity with R, Python, STATA, or MATLAB. Note that U.S. citizenship is required for this position. Internships
Starting in October, we will be recruiting interns for summer 2027. Our internships run for 10 to 12 weeks, starting in late May or early June. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with years completed of a higher education program and are located at our offices in Washington, D.C. Applicants must be U.S. citizens currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship.
