You will work with senior Technomics analysts to shape future Department of Defense (DoD) budgets for the nation’s most critical and technologically complex weapon system programs, including aircraft, ship, space, vehicle and missile programs. You will assist our senior analysts in researching, developing and applying quantitative techniques to estimate the costs to develop, produce, operate and support these systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 1) collection, organization and normalization of cost and technical data; 2) analysis of data using quantitative techniques such as regression, optimization and simulation; 3) documentation and presentation of data and analysis; and 4) learn as much as possible as fast as possible.

Qualifications

 

BA (Bachelor of Arts) or BS (Bachelor of Science) with a minimum of 24 credit hours in quantitative courses in the following disciplines: economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research or statistics. Minimum overall and major GPAs of 3.0 out of 4.0. Candidates should be motivated self-starters who enjoy solving challenging quantitative problems in a collaborative environment. Candidates should be quantitative, creative, inquisitive, candid and entrepreneurial. Candidates should have an interest in high technology systems. Candidates should have strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel skills. Candidates should have an interest in contributing to the success of corporate initiatives (e.g., process improvements) that impact Technomics’ performance and health. Because all candidates must be able to hold a DoD security clearance, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen. This position requires some travel outside the Washington, DC area. Job Responsibilities

 

As an Account Executive with NewDay USA, you will take roughly seven inbound calls per day from Veteran’s Affairs (VA) and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) home equity customers, as well as individuals who own their homes outright, who are looking to refinance up to 100% of the value of their homes. You will analyze customers’ financial statuses, credit and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of refinancing. Additional responsibilities of the Account Executive include:

• Consulting with customers about the most appropriate loan refinancing options and closing deals
• Following up on prospects to keep them informed of their mortgage options
• Qualifying borrowers by performing credit checks and verifying income/financial documents
• Ordering home appraisals
• Reviewing loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to our policy
• Coordinating loan processing with your Underwriting and Processing colleagues
• Reviewing and updating credit and loan files

Language Learning and Cognition Study Looking for Paid Participants

OMSE Now Hiring ECON Tutor!

OMSE Tutors support the mission of the office by providing tutorial services to multiethnic undergraduate students in various academic disciplines. The Office of Economic Policy, U.S. Treasury Department, is currently looking for college students interested in Economics, Finance, or Public Policy for our FALL 2014 internship program. Our program runs year round with three sessions: January through May, May through August, and September through December. Our program is about substance. Interns are generally assigned both a long-term research project as well as a multitude of smaller projects. They are also expected to attend Congressional Hearings, think tank lectures, and presentations, and to summarize these events for the Assistant Secretary and other senior level economists. Candidates should have strong writing skills and be well organized, highly motivated, and able to work independently. Interns are expected to work between 32 and 40 hours a week. There is some flexibility in the work hours if you are taking classes while in D.C. Though our intern positions are unpaid, we do provide a subway subsidy to help defray commuting expenses.
