The American Enterprise Institute seeks a full-time research assistant to support AEI’s early childhood program, based in the Education Policy Studies department. The program focuses on the research, policy, and politics of early-childhood care and education (prenatal through age four); the role of early learning in expanding opportunity for low-income Americans; and the implementation challenges of rapidly growing early-childhood education initiatives.
This position provides research, writing/editing, and administrative assistance to the Resident Scholar in early childhood and to the larger Education Policy team as needed. This includes duties such as research for and editing of blogs, op-eds, policy briefs, and reports; coordinating public events and high-level private meetings; and scheduling, trip planning, record keeping, financial tracking; managing public relations; and coordination of public events and high-level private meetings.
The ideal candidate works well both independently and in a team, and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills. The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure is also required, as well as a demonstrated interest in early childhood policy.
