Apply for a Fall 2020 internship at the SEC’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA).
DERA’s internship program offers participants extensive training, mentorship, and carefully crafted project placements at the intersection of agency research needs and students’ discipline-specific interests. In addition to becoming familiar with the financial regulatory ecosystem, the rule-making process for securities markets, and various functions of the SEC, students get to work on challenging projects such as producing analysis to support ongoing rule making or litigation of enforcement actions.
Interested candidates should apply before Friday, June 12th and should indicate DERA in their cover letters. The internship posting is deliberately very broad, because it covers intern positions for the entire SEC. In DERA, we are specifically looking for highly qualified undergrad or graduate student interns with backgrounds in data science and analysis, economics, finance, math, statistics, accounting, and other quant-focused fields as well as with strong coding skills (e.g., Python, R, Stata, SAS, or Perl).
