As a Program Assistant (OA) you will be responsible for assisting with program workload by performing a range of clerical and other program duties. You will be responsible for the initial screening of requests, applications, and claims; providing assistance to requestors, applicants, claimants, and compiling program statistics and reporting. Typical work assignments include:
Salary Range: $35,365.00 to $51,102.00 / Per Year
As a Program Assistant (OA) you will be responsible for assisting with program workload by performing a range of clerical and other program duties. You will be responsible for the initial screening of requests, applications, and claims; providing assistance to requestors, applicants, claimants, and compiling program statistics and reporting. Typical work assignments include:
- Examining incoming requests, applications, or claims relating to program actions or benefits ensuring that the information received is complete per program instructions.
- Assisting requestors seeking information concerning the program and providing detailed information concerning requesting actions, services, and or benefits.
- Screening, controlling and processing requests into a database system that identifies pertinent information and final dispositions. In addition, establishing and maintaining active, closed and action files.
- Compiling case statistics and developing reports for management to demonstrate changes in workload, times required for review and adjudication, approval rates, denial rates, effects of changes in staffing levels on case completion rates.
- Compiling background information and researching files for the specific case under consideration, as well as reviewing completed actions to ensure compliance with established formats and policies.
Key Requirements

- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- One year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.
