THE ANALYST EXPERIENCE

Analysts play a central role at Cornerstone Research. They work in case teams that vary in size and typically include an academic or industry expert, senior consultants, and multiple analysts. Within a case team, analysts make important contributions during all phases of the project—from developing case strategy and conducting analyses to preparing experts for testimony. Analysts are exposed to numerous types of cases across a spectrum of industries.

Analysts are well prepared for a range of opportunities during their time at Cornerstone Research. Approximately three-quarters of Cornerstone Research analysts choose to pursue advanced degrees— most often MBAs, JDs, and PhDs at top graduate programs such as Harvard Business School, Stanford Law School, and the University of Chicago. In addition, many Cornerstone Research analysts proceed directly to careers in technology, business, finance, research, consulting or nonprofit work.

SUMMER ANALYST ROLE
To provide an introduction to the analyst position at Cornerstone Research, the summer analyst role closely mirrors that of the full-time position. Summer analysts work in case teams that range in size but typically include a faculty expert, senior consultants, and analysts. Within a case team, the summer analyst makes important contributions during all phases of a project—from developing case strategy, to conducting analyses, to preparing experts for testimony. Casework has both quantitative and qualitative elements, involving such key responsibilities as conducting financial and economic modeling, examining market and industry behavior, and presenting findings to colleagues and clients.

Cornerstone Research values the professional growth of its summer analysts and recognizes their contributions to clients and the firm. Consequently, many summer analysts choose to join Cornerstone Research full-time upon graduation. The analytical depth of our assignments, the breadth of industry exposure, and experience working in case teams offer outstanding preparation for analysts applying to top graduate programs in business, economics, and law, and for ensuing careers in consulting, finance, industry, and academia. A number of our senior consultants started their careers as analysts with our firm.
