The work involves economic data gathering, analysis, and interpretation on smaller projects and clearly defined segments of larger projects. The incumbent takes a proactive approach to understanding and meeting the needs of internal and external customers, and consistently delivers high-quality products and services on time.
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating economic impacts, including using appropriate methodologies, determining relevant data requirements, collecting and analyzing information, and presenting the results professionally.
- Analyzes the benefits and costs of Agency program and policy options that are not directly related to rulemaking.
- Assists staff by contributing to socioeconomic analyses for environmental assessments and environmental impact statements, in support of APHIS' environmental compliance obligations.
- Assists senior economists in developing performance measures to evaluate program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepares and delivers oral and written presentations on analyses conducted.
- As a participant in multidisciplinary projects, applies appropriate analytical approaches and prepares smaller-scale economic analyses of Agency issues.
