UMD Summer Language Institute Experience

 

The UMD Summer Language Institute offers an intensive language-learning experience for students looking to study Arabic, Persian, or Korean over the Summer. During a 9 week program, students cover the equivalent of one year's worth of language study and receive 12 UMD language credits that can count toward any Major, Minor, or University requirement. In addition to intensive classes taught by instructors with years of experience, the program offers a vigorous curriculum of cultural activities to help improve student's knowledge of the Arabic, Persian, or Korean speaking world. 

The program offers flat-rate in-state tuition, and is available to all UMD students, non-UMD students, graduate or undergraduate students, working professionals, and High School Juniors and Seniors. Classes are offered at many levels, including for complete beginners, so if you've ever thought about learning a language but don't have time during the academic year, this summer could be your chance!
