The DC metropolitan area is home to hundreds of trade
associations, some large and some small, which conduct research and present
their members’ perspectives to Congress and various federal agencies. Many of these trade associations hire economics majors for various types of
positions. Examples include the American
Bankers Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the
Electric Power Research Institute, just to name a few examples.
The
Economics Department will host Lawrence Yun, Senior Vice President and Chief
Economist at the National Association of Realtors, for a talk about career
opportunities for economics majors in trade associations like NAR. He will also talk about possibilities for paid internships at NAR this coming
summer and next fall semester.
When: Tuesday, February 3rd
Time: 5:30 PM
