Fall 2017 Research Internship, Brookings

Internship with Ambassador Norman Eisen with Brookings

Beginning in September 2017, there is an opportunity for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year or graduate students with an interest in international relations, European history, public policy, and/or economic policy to apply principles and theory learned in the classroom in a professional environment.

This unpaid internship provides a pre-professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work experience related to the student’s field of study or career interest. It will provide an opportunity for career exploration and development as well as a chance to learn new skills.

Students will have the opportunity to learn a variety of research skills such as archival research, constructing historical chronologies, economic policy research, editing and other general research support. The topic areas include, but are not limited to:

• 20th century European history, international relations, diplomacy
• Congress and congressional procedure; political polarization; reforming government; political and corporate governance issues; and anti-corruption laws and efficacy; money in politics
• Open government and government transparency initiatives
• International economic statecraft; taxation and economic reform; labor productivity

Interns will have the opportunity to attend internal meetings, local think tank events, professional development workshops, and public Brookings events as well as participate on Brookings sports teams and network with other interns throughout the Institution.
