The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) is a temporary organization enacted to ensure accountability during the U.S. government’s involvement in the reconstruction of Afghanistan. SIGAR has a highly specialized mission to provide independent and objective oversight of Afghanistan reconstruction to both the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of State. They are focused on promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness and preventing and detecting fraud, waste, and abuse of U.S. taxpayer funds.
Current RecruitmentAll eligible applicants must be-
(a) U.S. citizens;
(b) Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance;
(c) Able to obtain and maintain a medical clearance; and
(d) Willing to accept temporary duty (TDY) assignments or deploy to Afghanistan.
