ABOUT US:
- OPSA economists serve as consultants to Center's leadership, conducting economic analyses of regulatory drug program performance, industry trends, the impact of FDA policies, and other topics within FDA/CDER oversight.
- Recent work includes root cause analysis of drug shortages, evaluation of impact an FDA industry guidance might have had on drug development, and a study of industry dynamics behind orphan drug applications.
- Ability to rigorously analyze complex problems using a variety of theoretical and empirical methods, tools and approaches;
- Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data;
- Ability to effectively work on projects where goals, objectives and path forward are not clearly defined;
- Ability to successfully work on multidisciplinary teams;
- Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical audience both verbally and in writing.
- Must be a US Citizen and have a degree in economics that includes at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 hours in statistics, accounting or calculus; OR
- Must be a US Citizen and have combination of education and experience (courses equivalent to a major in economics, as noted above, plus appropriate experience and additional education);
- Work experience outside of academic setting valued; project management experience a plus;
- Healthcare background not necessary.
