Apply for the Summer and Fall 2015 Maryland Internship Program

Numerous studies show that students with internship experience have more employment opportunities after graduation than students without internship experience. Experience makes you stand out to future employers!!!

The Center for American Politics and Citizenship (CAPC) coordinates many exciting opportunities for students interested in Government and Politics. A participant in the Maryland Internship Program (MIP) had this to say:

“I was accepted in MIP and was placed with a Maryland Delegate. I was then lucky enough to be asked back for the following session as an intern, and was then offered the position of Legislative Aid for the 2014 session. Without the MIP I might not have discovered my passion for state politics, and not be sitting where I am today.”

CAPC and the Department of Government and Politics offer three exciting internship programs to help University of Maryland undergraduates gain real-world experience in government and public policy, coupled with classroom training: the Maryland Internship Program (MIP), Capitol Hill Internship Program (CHIP), and Public Policy Internship Program (PPIP). You will have the opportunity to intern in federal, state and local government offices and agencies for a semester, earning course credit and valuable experience.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Summer and Fall 2015 Session of MIP (EXTENDED DEADLINE to May 4th), CHIP (rolling), and PPIP (rolling). The MIP application is attached to this email. In addition, if you are interested in academic research, CAPC is recruiting Undergraduate Research Assistants for Summer 2015. To apply, please send a current resume to mip@umd.edu.
