The Park Operation and Maintenance Division is committed to maintaining and improving these public spaces. The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA) is looking for two individuals whose skills are compatible with one of the following disciplines to work independently and as a team to assist with developing a comprehensive and sustainable Park Maintenance Asset Inventory, Park Conditions Assessment, Standard Operating Procedures Manual, and Park Maintenance Management Plan.
Position Descriptions:
Analyst Associate:
Seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in: Economics, Planning, Park and Recreation Management, or Business that will assist in preforming on-site research, gathering and examining data, and developing analytical matrices and in-depth written analysis used in the creation of a comprehensive Park Maintenance Asset Inventory. Additional duties include creating work efficiency models utilizing operations data, industry standards, cost analysis, and geographic data and incorporating analysis and data into management applications and systems. Other duties include interacting with Park Managers, Line Staff, and Park Planners.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a graduate level program
• High level of expertise in Excel
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS
• Experience with Microsoft Access
Research Associate:
Seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in: Turf Management, Horticulture, Construction Management, or Business that will assist in preforming online and on-site research, guiding employee input panels, and completing detailed written analysis used in the creation of a Park Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures Manual and Park Conditions Assessment. Additional duties include incorporation of analysis and data into management applications and systems. Other duties will include interacting with Park Managers, Line Staff, and Park Planners while assisting in other administrative duties as needed.

• Excellent writing and grammar skills
• Fluency in Spanish

Minimum Requirements:
• Enrollment in an undergraduate or a graduate program
• Some experience or a demonstrated interest in the field of Business, Planning, Park and Recreation Management, Landscape Architecture, Turf Maintenance, Horticulture, or Construction Management
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the project
• Ability to communicate and collaborate well with others
• Highly detail-oriented and organized work habits
• Level of expertise with Microsoft Office
