Last Chance to Apply for the NABE Scholar's Program! Deadline is June 1

Time is running out to apply for the 2022 NABE Scholars Program; submit your application by next Wednesday, June 1!

This program, launched two years ago by The NABE Foundation and the NABE Diversity and Inclusion Committee, provides access to valuable learning and networking opportunities for diverse and underrepresented early-career economists and students interested in pursuing a career in applied economics.

Here's what some past Scholars have had to say:

"Thanks to the NABE Scholars program, I have been able to achieve many goals, and all in one place. I had opportunities to learn through the Economic Measurement Seminar and NABE meetings, I was able to reinforce my writing and communication skills through CBE classes, and I networked and discussed current issues with economists from around the world at NABE’s in-person and virtual conferences in 2021. Connections I made at NABE events helped lead me to my current job as well."

-Antar Diallo, Economic Research Analyst, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta

"The NABE Scholars program provides a great platform for minority students who are interested in studying applied economics but otherwise might not have access to certain events or resources. They have a really supportive group of people who are very proactive in sharing information about future events and learning programs. I think becoming a part of the NABE Scholars program is an amazing way to catapult your career and become a leader in the economics profession."

-Saannidhya Rawat, CBE, Economics PhD Candidate, University of Cincinnati

Program benefits have been expanded in 2022 thanks to the generosity of the Scholars Circle of Benefactors. This year's cohort of 20 NABE Scholars will receive complimentary registration to four NABE events: the 2022 NABE Foundation Economic Measurement Seminar (July 18-19, Washington, DC), the 2022 NABE Annual Meeting (October 8-11, Chicago, IL), the 2022 NABE Tech Economics Conference (November 6-8, Seattle, WA), and the 2023 NABE Economic Policy Conference (dates TBD, Washington, DC). In addition, each Scholar will receive complimentary registration to one Certified Business Economist (CBE) course of their choice and will be awarded a one-time $400 travel stipend.

For further information on eligibility criteria and to apply, please visit the 2022 NABE Scholars application portal. Application deadline is Wednesday, June 1.
