ITDP Monitoring & Evaluations, Research Internships Available!

The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) promotes sustainable and equitable transport worldwide. ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Africa, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on bus rapid transit, cycling and walking, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, shared mobility, and urban development. More information about ITDP can be found at www.itdp.org.

Monitoring & Evaluations Internship
ITDP’s Global Program is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluations (M&E) Intern. ITDP’s M&E program measures the impact of work done by the entire organization. This effort includes tracking the publications, events, infrastructure changes, and policy changes done by each regional office, estimating the cumulative impacts of those interventions, and organizing in-depth evaluations of particular projects. The M&E Intern will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day tasks of each of those work areas. They will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve those workflows, taking ownership over sections of the process, as appropriate.

Research Internship
The Research and Impact Group under ITDP’s Global Program is seeking a Research Intern, preferably based in the Washington, D.C. office. The Global Program aims to scale up the implementation of sustainable transport measures around the world by collecting and spreading information. The Research and Impact Group supports that mission by monitoring progress on sustainable transportation and translating research into practical guidance for decision makers. The intern will support these efforts through data collection and cleaning, conducting literature reviews and analysis, and contributing to written and visual materials.

For more information on each of these internships, click here.

To apply, please send a resume and cover letter to jobs@itdp.org with “Monitoring and Evaluations Intern” or "Research Intern" in the subject line, depending on which you are applying for.

Tuesday, April 26 • 4 - 5 pm
Virtual Event, RSVP to attend via Careers4Terps

Many applicants for federal positions, including summer interns and volunteers, undergo a suitability review or a security clearance background check. So…what is a security clearance? Essentially, a security clearance is a designation by the U.S. government that an individual is allowed to access classified information. There are several levels of clearance (Public Trust, Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret), and the different types of clearance provide the individual varying levels of accessibility to sensitive information.

Nawana H., Mid-Atlantic A Regional Recruiter for the CIA will share details and bust myths about the process and how you can boost your chances to work with agencies like the FBI, CIA, State Department and others.

Our employers want to hear from our students! We anticipate this to be an engaging session, and we encourage students to ask questions throughout.
