U.S. Treasury Department Fellow Program
The Office of Debt Management of the U.S. Treasury Department invites application for its Fellow Program. Position will involve data analysis, programming with Matlab and VBA on optimization and pricing issues, assisting with tasks in portfolio management, security design and market analysis, and documenting internal procedures.
Assignment Period:
One year. The Office may extend it for another year.
Requirements:
(1) A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Engineering;
(2) Strong data, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
(3) Programming experience with Matlab and VBA; (4) U.S. citizenship.
Knowledge of fixed income math desirable.

EXST 150: Law School Boot Camp
The first year of law school is the most stressful and most important year
for firm hiring prospects. Students will be introduced to the eight introductory
courses that are taught in most ABA approved law schools in a stress free
environment. Learn from the professor who wrote the book!
This workshop series will help students:
• Learn how to provide sound legal analysis in research, writing, and oral advocacy.
• Learn how to prepare for exams;
• Learn key Latin terms and legal concepts; and
• Learn law school etiquette and ethics.

Professor Yancey will also provide keen insight into how to identify the

Chinese Language and Culture - Study/Scholarship Opportunity in Taiwan, August 6 through August 24, 2012
National Central University, Taiwan, and the University of Maryland, College Park, are offering five (5) scholarships including free tuition, room and meals, and airfare for students strongly motivated to take part in a three (3) week Chinese Language and Culture course. The three (3) week course will include classes in Chinese, field trips to museums and other cultural sites. Undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Maryland are eligible. The course will be taught by lecturers from NCU's Language Center and will include students from Europe and the United States as well as East Asia.

ECON Undergraduate Advising has moved!
We are now located in 3108 Tydings Hall.
Our walk-in hours will generally remain the same throughout the summer (10am - 4:30pm), however since we must close the office at times to conduct new student orientations, all students should call before making the trip to campus to confirm our hours for that particular day.
