Exclusive Fall ECON internship at the US Census Bureau!
The Economic Statistical Methods Division of the U.S. Census Bureau is seeking motivated interns interested in developing analytical, statistical, and data‑driven skills while supporting a variety of research and operational projects. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to work that strengthens the quality, coverage, and methodology of key Public Sector and Business surveys and data products used across the federal statistical system.
Interns may support activities such as maintaining and enhancing the Governments Master Address File (GMAF), conducting legislative research to identify government entity changes, and reviewing classification and frame coverage for state and local governments. Opportunities also include assisting with data editing and outlier‑detection research, evaluating statistical methods for surveys, and supporting methodological enhancements such as estimation and measure‑of‑size assessments.
Additional projects may involve identifying and analyzing alternative data sources for capital expenditures, performing literature reviews, documenting data characteristics, and comparing external data to Census Bureau series. Interns may also contribute to seasonal adjustment specification reviews, help automate routine data-processing tasks using open‑source programming languages, or review and test output from automated workflows.
These internships offer hands-on experience with real survey operations, data analysis, research methods, and process documentation. Ideal candidates are curious, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn how the Census Bureau's Economic programs operate and evolve.
Positions are remote-only for Fall 2026. Candidates must successfully complete the background check process. This unpaid internship meets the requirements for ECON386 (internships for academic credit) and is 10-12 hours per week throughout the Fall semester.

UN ECLAC Summer Internship Program - Open to current seniors or recent graduates
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is currently accepting applications for our Summer 2023 Internship Program.
The Intern will perform the following duties:
- Research on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, new technologies, and their impact on economic development (with a focus on LAC).
- Conduct literature reviews to understand the current state of the research topic and its implications for LAC.
- Summarize and analyze relevant research papers and publications. - Participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Attend relevant conferences, webinars, and seminars.
- Collect information from official country data, specialized agencies, and other sources.
- Review and compile the collected data and information, prepare reports, and update databases of the Office, incorporating appropriate tables, graphs, and charts with references.
- The intern may also be asked to assist in the day-to-day work of the Office if required.

Managing the Job Search for INFO Students: Accountability Hour
Searching and applying for jobs and internships is stressful! Not only can it be hard to know where to start and how to go about the search process, but it almost always includes managing mental and emotional stress. Dealing with anxiety, stress, worry, and insecurity in the job and internship search is both common and normal! This is especially the case in our current moment, as the job market is highly competitive and searches are taking longer than they have in recent years.
Please join Monique McIntyre (Embedded Counselor for the INFO College) and Kevin Kenneally (Program Director for the University Career Center at INFO) for this event that will feature 1) A brief presentation with tips related to how to effectively go about your job search and 2) Unstructured time to actively work on your job search with career and counseling support readily available to you as you have questions.
This workshop is open to all students, but is specifically targeted to students in the College of Information.

Bright Futures Unpaid Internship Scholarship Fund Application
The Bright Futures Summer 2026 Application will open on Mon, March 30, 2026 and close on Mon, May 4, 2026.
ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES
All registered University of Maryland, College Park undergraduate students returning to campus for the fall 2026 semester, who have an unpaid internship for summer 2026, are eligible to apply. Graduating seniors are not eligible. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors graduating in December. Preference will also be given to those who have not previously received this scholarship.
In order for your internship to qualify for funding support, it must satisfy the following criteria:
1. Unpaid on-campus or off-campus internship with a non-profit organization or government agency.
2. New internship experience during summer 2026 and completed by the start of the fall 2026 semester.
3. Supervised by a professional in the field.
4. Along with your completed Bright Futures application (available March 30, 2026), our Supervisor Agreement form is also completed and submitted by your internship supervisor. Download & save this document onto your computer - do not fill out in the web browser or it will not save properly.

Summer 2026 Internship Opportunity with the Federal Trade Commission
Duties
In this role, you will gain real-world experience by working alongside PhD economists to protect consumers and promote competition in the US economy. Interns work with economists to support FTC matters, including:
- Providing economic and statistical analysis in support of antitrust investigations, consumer protection cases, and rulemaking.
- Conducting academic research and developing reports on the functioning of markets in the economy.
The ideal candidate for this position has
- A strong interest in and intuition for applied microeconomics.
- Proficiency in programming languages widely used in economics, statistics, and/or data science such as Stata, R, or Python.
- Excitement about conducting data analysis on a wide range of datasets in support of consumer protection and competition missions of the FTC.
- Interest and aptitude in working with PhD economists on economics research projects that serve the mission of the FTC.
- A desire to grow and build on skills in data analysis and microeconomics.
Position details
- Internships will run approximately from late May/June through mid-August, with exact start and end dates determined based on candidate availability.

CARE Peer Group
This spring CARE is hosting Coping with Trauma: Drop-In Support Group! This drop-in group is open to students who identify as female and is led by trained CARE Peer Advocates. Together, we’ll learn about trauma responses and create coping tools through arts and crafts in a supportive, peer-centered space. Please note: This is not a psychotherapy group and is not facilitated by a therapist. A CARE therapist will be onsite for support, and the group will be facilitated by trained peer advocates.
The group will occur on Thursdays, March 26 through April 30 from 1-2pm. Due to the nature of the group, doors close at 1:10pm. Light refreshments will be served. For more information email uhc-care@umd.edu.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Partnership is seeking a Public Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Associate to help support and execute the Partnership’s policy and advocacy agenda, conduct policy analysis and research, produce policy products, coordinate events, and engage stakeholders in the Partnership’s work. This important role will support the Policy team’s work to respond to real-time policy developments that affect public servants and government operations as well as its work to craft policy proposals and advocacy strategies to enact larger-scale federal government reforms.
The Associate will assist the team by drafting talking points, researching policy issues, developing research-based policy products, and supporting meetings with Executive Branch and Congressional offices and other stakeholders. Expert Analysis Group (EAG) Positions at the DOJ Antitrust Division
The Expert Analysis Group is looking for detail-oriented, highly motivated individuals interested in economics. This position will be advertised at the GS-7 and GS-9 grade levels. A bachelor’s degree that included 15 semester hours in Statistics (or in Mathematics and Statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in Statistics) is required, and you must be a U.S. citizen. Relevant experience includes work with spreadsheets, coding, and applied econometrics and statistics. Course work in statistics, econometrics, calculus, data science, and linear algebra is useful.
