The Robert H. Smith School of Business is proud that last year’s Winter Term
Nicaragua course was selected by a prestigious and selective group of
international educators known as the GoAbroad Innovations Academy to be one of
the finalists for the annual 2012 GoAbroad Innovation Award. There were hundreds
of submissions chosen for “Showcasing the Best of Originality, Creativity and
Exceptional Ideas in International Education." The purpose of these awards is to
acknowledge institutions, organizations, and individuals who are creating
initiatives to move the field of international education forward, and to commend
leaders in the community for their efforts to go beyond the conventional. As one
of the finalists for the Award, we know our students who participated in the
2012 course had a life-changing experience.
