Internship Position at the Economics & Statistics Administration, Dept. of Commerce

Seeking college senior or graduate student for a paid full- time, temporary position. Part-time 32 hours will be considered.

Provides administrative support to executives and staff in the Department of Commerce’s, Economics and Statistics Administration's (ESA), Office of the Under Secretary and Office of the Chief Economist. Ensures efficient execution and timely flow of correspondence in and out of the office. Assists Office Directors and ESA executives, when necessary, in the procedural aspect of expediting the work of the office. Arranges meetings, greets visitors, makes conference room reservations, notifies all participants and assembles background information. Serves as a liaison between the Office of the Under Secretary and Office of the Chief Economist and key ESA-wide officials. Drafts correspondence and inter-office communications. Maintains calendar with special attention to major events. Assists in preparing briefing materials and conducting research as needed. Uses word processing, graphics, database, and spreadsheet software programs to complete assignments. Responds to urgent information requests from within and outside the office (e.g. press releases, reports, speeches, presentations) on a wide range of issues. Assists economists on ad hoc reports and data gathering.

The salary is based on education and experience. Must be a U.S. citizen. Salary is based on school standing and experience.
