Premium Service Internship
University of Maryland Athletic Department

OUR MISSION:
To recruit and develop the finest individuals in the sports and entertainment industry. We recognize the importance of each individual and look at this as a 6 week interview.  We intend to achieve first-class status as an internship program through steadfast, professional commitment to integrity, character, and service. We will exemplify the principles and discipline of a first-class sports organization in our approach, in our product, and in our results.

WHY DO YOUR INTERNSHIP WITH MARYLAND ATHLETICS:
We believe that the internship is the cornerstone of a student’s professional preparation. It allows a student to apply classroom theories, concepts and prior experience in a practical, professional setting.

DID YOU KNOW:
This internship program will be used as a primary source of candidates for full-time, entry-level positions.

HOURS: Based on college/university credit hour requirements; evenings/weekends required based on event schedule

REPORTS TO: Director of Premium Seating Services


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Open to COLLEGE STUDENTS ONLY, Junior, Senior, and Graduate Students
• Optional to receive academic credit (students are required to provide documentation of receiving academic credit for the internship experience)
• Desire to work in the athletic and/or entertainment industry
• Effective verbal and written communication; as well as exceptional interpersonal skills
• NO financial compensation is available for any position
• Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the students
• Game nights and/or weekends are required
• Part-time or full-time internship opportunities available

INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES:
• Intern will gain knowledge, experience and skills in the sports and venue marketing and advertising industry
• The intern will be involved and assist with the facilitation, implementation, and execution of premium services during events at University of Maryland.
• Intern will report directly to the Director of Premium Services, and work directly with suite holders, business owners, and operations staff on various game day responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned
