Process Accountant Intern
Bookkeeping Express
Position Type: Summer Internship, Internship (Fall or Spring Part-Time)
Location: Arlington, Virginia (United States)

Responsibilities:• Full cycle processing of payables and receivables utilizing full range of QuickBooks and/or Xero capabilities
• Reconciliations of bank, credit card, vendor and customer balances 
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes throughout the bookkeeping cycle
• Month-end close process
• Journal entry preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Knowledge of accrual method of accounting and prepaid/deferred revenue schedules
• Follow-up and management of outstanding client documentation
• Ability to complete high quality client work within a tight timeframe
• Multi-task and self-start in order to manage and prioritize multiple client requirements
• Outstanding organizational skills needed to be able to manage and plan client work
• Demonstrate a flexible attitude in response to changing client needs or requests
• Ability to manage clients and operate in virtual environment with use of E-filing workflow

Qualifications: • Understanding of the balance sheet and income statement and the nature of their accounts
• Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills and experience with Excel and other MS Office applications
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle client work in a friendly and professional manner
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment 
• Exceptional analytical skills 
• Orbital thinker (vs linear thinker) preferred
• Experience in the preparation of tax returns, sales tax reporting and understanding of entity types not required but very helpful
• Experience with other Accounting software packages a plus.

Business Operations Associate

Location: Hanover, Maryland (United States)
Description: The Business Operations Associate (BOA) is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service, to exsiting external customers as well as corporate and field office employees. The BOA is proficient in the management and collection of customer accounts receivable. 

Qualities include:
Building customer relationships, conflict resolution, professionalism, detail-oriented, strong follow-up skills, multi-tasking skills, the ability to use independent judgment, ability to function in an open environment, and the ability to adapt to changes in the workplace

Essential Functions:
• Manage total accounts receivable with an Aging in excess of $3.5 million
• Management of customer accounts, including but not limited to invoicing, PO tracking, account resolution and working with client to resolve outstanding issues. 
• Responsible for gathering the necessary data to assist Management with account specific decisions
• Support liaison for field offices and Operational Support Group with questions pertaining to those local/regional accounts on their aging including but not limited to client billing and payment policies and/or procedures, PeopleSoft issues, etc.
• Auditing accounts to ensure accurate billing and client specific information

Research Assistant

Position Type: On-Campus Part-Time
Desired Major(s): Behavioral and Social Sciences/Economics, Behavioral and Social Sciences/Psychology, Behavioral and Social Sciences/Sociology
Location: College Park, Maryland (United States)
Description: Part time student employee needed to assist with large scale survey effort. Work will include some data entry and coding, but also preliminary data analysis and writing of routine reports. Looking for a student interested in social science research or survey research.

Desired Class Level(s): Freshman, Sophomore, Junior
Salary Level: hourly wage

Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail. Some experience with basic descriptive statistics (mean, median, percentages, etc.). Needs to be proficient with Microsoft Excel - Access would be a bonus. Highly qualified individuals may have experience with SPSS, SAS or R.
