Apply Now for Spring 2016 Maryland-in-London Study Abroad Program

Have you ever considered studying abroad in London?

Maryland-in-London offers you the opportunity to incorporate study abroad into your four-year plan, ensuring your time in the UK keeps you on track for graduation. Faculty use the city as a classroom and students are offered unprecedented access to the diverse and comprehensive amenities of London. A highlight for Economics students is ‘UK Economy and Financial System, which fulfils major degree requirements and will give you a deeper understanding of the modern British economy. You’ll visit the Bank of England; assess the policy, structure and performance of the UK economy since 1945; examine the world financial crisis 2007 to date; and consider whether the UK and the US really do have a special relationship. You can also opt for classes in Art History, Anthropology, English Literature, Government and Politics, History and Theatre.

The program encourages students to engage with local people and culture. In addition to Maryland courses, you may take one class with British students at the prestigious local partner institution, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). QMUL is ranked in the top 10 of UK universities and it has over 15 Economics courses on offer each semester. Alternatively, step beyond the classroom and add an exciting academic work placement (internship) to your registration. Past students selecting the work placement option have interned for economy and policy organisations, pressure groups, think tanks, NGOs and organisations within the government sector, all in one of the leading business and financial centres in the world.

Applications are now open for the spring of 2016 and are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis until the deadline on October 1st.
