You will be working with the Financial Control and Risk Management Team, reporting to the Manager of Financial Control and Risk Management. This team works with stakeholders across the organization to drive a culture of financial control and mitigate financial risk through monitoring and addressing control gaps, supporting robust knowledge management, and updating standard operating procedure documentation and policies. Through this internship, you will also have the opportunity to work with other teams within the finance division to support the design and rollout of an improved record retention system.
What You’ll be Doing (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)
- Cataloguing records held by each team within Finance, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Reviewing records against the record retention policy to determine which records should be kept, archived or deleted
- Monitor help desk tickets and ensure policies and procedures are updated with submitted requests
- Ensure documents are centralized and current on Sharepoint
- Update finance trackers to reflect audit findings and policy & procedure changes
- Must be an actively enrolled Associate, Bachelor, Master or other post high school education program, or have graduated within 6 months of program start date
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English,
- Demonstrate collaborative interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully within a team
- Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Comfortable with financial data and systems
- Meaningful work under the direct supervision of an experienced Save the Children staff member
