We have an immediate opening for a research assistant (RA) position in the Richmond Fed research department. This is a full time, two-year position for candidates who recently completed their undergrad degree; it should be particularly interesting to someone considering an academic career in economics. Start date is during Fall 2023. Please share with students who may be a good fit.
Candidates can apply here: Federal Reserve System Careers (myworkdayjobs.com)
Applications considered on a rolling basis, but interested candidates encouraged to apply before September 1st.
We will consider applicants graduating in December, for a start date of January 2024, but will give priority to candidates who are able to start in the Fall of 2023.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders, since sponsorship or practical training extensions are not available for this position
We are very interested in getting the information about these opportunities to people traditionally underrepresented in the economics profession. I thank you in advance for your help with sharing the information with those students.
We are a welcoming department and we are committed to mentor our RAs and interns in their learning and in their next steps. About 50% of our RAs and interns go on to a PhD in economics, and they get placed in solid, and sometimes top, programs (in the last 3 years: Chicago, Stanford, Northwestern).
