Rawlings Fellows Program Accepting Applications (Rolling Basis)

Looking for a way to make real impact, gain experience, and get paid for it? The Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program at UMD is now accepting applications.

This selective, two-semester experience is open to students from ALL majors who are ready to turn their ideas into action and lead meaningful change.

As a Rawlings Fellow, you will:

✨ Receive a $1,000 stipend upon successful completion
🌍 Design and lead your own Community Action Project (CAP)
πŸ›️ Intern with a nonprofit or political organization
πŸŽ“ Participate in a leadership course and hands-on workshops
🀝 Connect directly with elected officials, nonprofit leaders, and community advocates
πŸ“£ Build the skills to advocate for communities and drive real change

You’ll join a community of student leaders committed to creating transformative, inclusive, and lasting impact—while gaining experience that sets you apart.

The program continues the legacy of Maryland Delegate Howard Peters “Pete” Rawlings, a champion for ethical public leadership.

We’re looking for students who:

  • Have at least two semesters remaining (starting Fall 2026)
  • Want to make a meaningful difference on campus and beyond
  • Are ready to step into leadership and take action
