The United States-China Policy Foundation (USCPF) is a non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization dedicated exclusively to broadening awareness of China and U.S.-China relations in the Washington, DC policy community. The USCPF Internship Program provides students with a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in the field of U.S.-China relations. During their time with the Foundation, students will play in active role in researching and writing reports on current issues related to U.S.-China relations, assisting with educational programming and events, and managing the USCPF website.

Fall 2017 White House Internship Program
The Fall 2017 White House Internship Program application is now open.
The application portal will remain open until 11:59PM EDT on June 16, 2017. Any applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
The Fall 2017 White House Internship Program term runs from September 6 to December 8, 2017. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the Internship Program start date, and must be able to commit to the full internship term to be eligible. Additionally, applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet at least one of the following criteria to apply:
- Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution).
- Have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution) no more than two years before the internship program start date.
- Are a veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty—for any length of time—in the two years preceding the internship program start date.
The White House Internship Program is highly competitive. Responsibilities
Research Analysts work on all parts of our research process. Research Analysts' responsibilities mostly consist of:
- Researching charitable interventions, including analyzing academic research and developing cost-effectiveness estimates
- Evaluating charities, including assessing internal monitoring & evaluation and representing GiveWell in discussions with charity staff
- Reviewing research produced by other staff members for accuracy and clarity
- Miscellaneous duties depending on individual preferences and abilities, including communicating with donors and media, writing, and original analysis on research questions

Assistant Analyst Position with Congressional Budget Office for Recent Grad - Apply by June 12th!
The Congressional Budget Office is a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress. CBO’s Budget Analysis Division seeks an assistant analyst for a period not to exceed three years to work in its Income Security and Education Cost Estimates Unit, which provides analysis of Social Security, income security, nutrition, and housing programs. The assistant analyst provides support to other analysts in the unit through data collection and analysis (including statistical programming) and research assistance. The assistant analyst also provides independent cost analysis of some federal programs. Much of that work is done on a quick-turnaround basis, in response to the needs of Congressional committees.

Basic computer programming
skills are becoming both more essential and more in demand across many
disciplines, including the behavioral and social sciences. This course requires no
prior programming
experience. It will provide hands-on, practically-oriented instruction not
available from more traditional sources (books, online tutorials,
etc.). Students will become proficient in a popular programming
language like R and Python that will be useful for data manipulation and
analysis in psychology and related fields. The solid foundation in programming
concepts provided will enable students to extend their skills even beyond the
course. The classes are highly interactive and problem-oriented, so students
should bring a laptop computer each day.
