Reports To: Director Statistical Operations
JOB SUMMARY:
The Economist serves as the primary staff member responsible for all aspects of a select group of market data reports from survey design, data collection and verification to final report preparation and communication with survey participants. The incumbent will work with a proprietary data collection and processing software system as well as Microsoft Access and Excel programs. This is a unique career opportunity with great potential for someone who has creative and quantitative skills.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as primary member contact for managed statistical programs
· Contact members regarding anomalous data
· Make estimation decisions with respect to participant data
· Compile summary reports and review final versions for publication
· Monitor participation on all current/ “open” reports
· Monitor timeliness and accuracy measures to ensure adherence to department goals
· Be available for cross-team summary check
· Work with statistical committees or other entities involved in determining scope and direction of statistical programs
· Contact NEMA members (both new and existing) that belong to sections with relevant statistical programs but don’t participate
· Work with industry managers (or other relevant staff) to review/assess statistical programs and enlist their aid in recruitment, program development, and section-level approval
· Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Quantitative orientation
· Computer literacy and working knowledge of database and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Access and Excel a plus)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· BA/BS in economics/statistics or a related field
· 2+ years professional experience
