Research Analyst Position with REA

Rosenberg Economic Advisors, Inc. is a small economic consulting firm located in downtown Washington, DC that specializes in analyzing, from an antitrust perspective, the competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions.  We consult with investment advisors who are trading the equity of firms involved in transactions as well as attorneys representing clients who are directly involved in mergers and acquisitions.  The work environment is fast paced and stimulating with the chance to study a wide variety of industries such as retailing, pharmaceuticals, offshore oil drilling, cement, and enterprise software. Our company has a job opening for a Research Analyst position with a June 15th starting date.

Duties:

• Research a variety of markets, companies, and regulatory environments using online databases, trade press, financial statements, and other sources. 
• Interview competitors, customers, and suppliers to learn about industry factors relevant to our analysis. 
• Monitor ongoing litigation and regulatory merger reviews at federal, state, and foreign agencies. 
• A chance to interact with clients and relay ongoing research and analysis. 
• Perform other general office support duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have a BA/BS in economics or related major from a top school, a good understanding of microeconomics, and preferably have taken courses in antitrust and industrial organization. 
• Strong consideration will be given to candidates with excellent communication and critical thinking skills,  and the ability to multitask and work under deadlines. 
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office specifically Excel and Access is a plus.
