Paid Summer Research Internship with the National Association of REALTORS

NAR is seeking internship candidates to work in Washington, DC as research analysts. The National Association of REALTORS® is America's largest trade association, representing over 1 million members, including NAR's institutes, societies, and councils, involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

The Research division of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) is the premier source of statistics and survey work on the U.S. housing market. NAR Research produces data and reports in support of its membership, to educate national and local policy makers, and to elevate the general level of discourse on housing issues. http://www.realtor.org/research-and-statistics

We are looking for candidates who are interested in economics and real estate, and the intersection of research and policy arenas. The research work will focus on both the residential and commercial real estate sectors, and will comprise a range of tasks, including but not limited to data entry, data set construction, quality control, simple statistics, summary analysis, survey support, report writing and internet research.

This is a paid internship with flexible hours. The offices of the NAR are conveniently located three blocks from Union Station in Washington, DC.

Desired skills:
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Able to conduct analysis and communicate results clearly in writing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Able to solve problems and think logically.
  • Able to manage processes and meet deadlines.
  • Able to communicate effectively and maintain good relationships and work effectively with other team members.
  • Interest in economics, real estate and public policy.
  • Exhibit strong and confident interpersonal skills.
  • Results oriented.
Qualifications:
  • High academic achievement
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, entering junior or senior year in the Fall of 2015.
  • A degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or Humanities is NOT required, but candidates must have demonstrated interest in learning about these areas. (Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted).
Desired Start Date: May 25 - June 1
Hours per Week: 20 - 40
