Our Food Safety Insights (FSI) and other analytics products transform diffuse and disparate local health department data into actionable intelligence using our proprietary Hazel Score methodology. Hazel Analytics is also the proud recipient of Jack in the Box's 2016 Food Safety Innovation Award.
We are seeking to hire a Maryland-based team member on a part-time basis to expand our data science team and to help with specific strategic projects. Work location is flexible, but should available for meeting on the UMD campus about 2-4 times per month for a couple of hours at a time.
Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in R, Stata, Python, or similar statistical package.
- Some training in statistics and/or econometrics.
- Experience in creating creative and intuitive data visualizations.
- Effective verbal/written communication skills.
- Experience and comfort with big and messy (unstructured) data sets.
- Experience with textual analysis tools (NLP familiarity highly preferable).
