Summer 2019 Economics Internship

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), a premier trade association located in Washington, D.C., is seeking a paid intern to assist the Economics teams with primary research, writing and data work during the summer, starting this May.

They are seeking applicants that:

• Have excellent writing and data management skills
• Are proficient in STATA and Excel
• Are self-motivated and have a demonstrated ability to work well independently, as well as with a team
• Can balance multiple tasks
• Have a high attention to detail
• Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably with a major in economics, political science or the social sciences

The position will include:

• Detailed research on transportation funding policy and initiatives at the federal and state level
• Reaching out to industry and state officials
• Compiling and managing large datasets
• Analyzing data and information from federal and state sources
• Writing reports and/or blog posts
• Assisting with ARTBA events, including in-person events as well as webinars and conference calls

The applicant should be familiar with a variety of general data sources and comfortable working with large datasets in STATA and Excel. This position includes producing content for revenue-generating reports and custom market studies that are shared with association members, government officials and the media.

ARTBA is a leading trade association with over 5,000 members that represent all facets of the transportation construction industry. Our members include contractors, design firms, educators, equipment manufacturers and transportation officials.
