Hiring: Program Assistant (International Team)

 


The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) has an immediate opening for a Program Assistant. This is a full-time, remote position, with preference for candidates in the Washington, DC area.

Job Description: The Program Assistant for the International Program at CEPR is responsible for a variety of important duties within the organization. The position plays an essential role in a number of daily tasks focused around releasing materials in English and Spanish for public or private audiences. These tasks include proofreading and formatting documents for publication, coordinating translations, disseminating CEPR materials for various audiences and assisting in research projects. For economic releases, this can include gathering and graphing economic data. The Program Assistant is responsible for a variety of operations for CEPR, including answering incoming inquiries, assisting with the planning and execution of events, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Qualifications: 
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) as well as an interest in economic justice.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to handle multiple projects and coordinate workflow, ability to work independently and with a team, good written and verbal communication skills, a sense of humor, and a shared commitment to CEPR’s mission and values.
  • Candidates should have some or all of the following: strong knowledge of the political landscape; experience using economic data; experience at a nonprofit, union, or similar environment with a track record of successful work; experience with publication layout/design, website content management, and email distribution programs; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, graphing and visualization software (such as Tableau and Datawrapper) and graphing best practices; and the ability to learn new software and skills quickly.
  • Experience with any of the following is not required but desirable: coalitions and coalition building, the US Congress, Photoshop or Illustrator, statistical analysis, website design and maintenance, and video and audio production/editing.
  • Background in or familiarity with current events in Latin America and/or international financial institutions is a strong plus.
  • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish a plus.
