Panel Discussion On Russia's War In Ukraine
Join Ukrainian economists and political scientists with knowledge of the country and data as they report on research related to the impact of the Russia’s war in Ukraine and the nature of policies for reconstruction. Learn what makes Ukrainian communities resilient, the role of international financial organizations, prospective of what Ukraine should become after the war and what tools policymakers can use to fulfill these goals.

Richmond Federal Reserve RA Positions
We are looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds, interests, and perspectives. During the two years they spend in the Department, we mentor our Research Associates (RAs) and we provide them with many opportunities to learn, in their daily work interactions with economists and other RAs, as well as attending seminars and lectures, and giving presentations in RA-led study groups. We provide a friendly and academically-oriented environment where RAs can learn, grow and develop their own skills and interests, while contributing to our policy and research projects.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and extensive coursework in economics (preferred), mathematics (required), and statistics. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher. Experience with computer programming and statistical analysis software packages (such as Matlab, Stata and R) is highly valued. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Evidence of interest in research in the form of previous work experience as a research assistant, or completion of a senior thesis, is a plus.
What You Will Do:
The RA pool supports multiple economists with their academic research on wide-ranging topics (including general equilibrium macroeconomic models, time-series econometrics, labor economics, financial economics, contract theory, public and health economics, industrial organization, and regional economics). Responsibilities include writing computer code to solve dynamic economic models or analyze time-series and panel data, literature reviews, and helping with model derivations. RAs also use these tools to assist in the preparation of policy briefings. The position is an excellent opportunity for students interested in pursuing graduate studies in economics.

- Technology Innovation Leadership (5 courses/15 credits) prepares students to effectively create and navigate a climate of technological innovation within an organization or team. By combining creative leadership, design thinking, and understanding socio-technical challenges, students tackle large-scale problems relating to technology innovation and examine how leaders and social entrepreneurs use innovative technologies and information to solve social, cultural, and environmental issues.
- Information Risk Management, Ethics, and Privacy (5 courses/15 credits) prepares students to evaluate information and big-data privacy and security issues that businesses and individuals face. The curriculum examines risks companies face while collecting, storing, and managing information and their existing customers’ and stakeholders’ data. Students learn practical strategies to mitigate risks and explore the ways emerging technologies benefit in the context of risk management, ethics, and privacy.

Applying for a consulting firm is different from the normal process and requires months of preparation to ace the interview. ECON majors are highly qualified and in demand at these firms but often miss out on these prestigious jobs because of they weren't prepared. In addition, most posts are filled in the fall for summer jobs. Because of this, we are partnering with the Feller Center to provide workshops throughout the semester.
