Congressional Internship Opportunity!

Congressional Internship Locations: 
Washington D.C. or Topeka, KS

Semester sessions:
  • Internships are split into semester sessions, Spring, Summer I: May - July, Summer II: June - August, and Fall.
  • Start/End Dates are flexible and working hours can be adjusted on a case-by-case basis.
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend, dependent on hours worked weekly
  • D.C. interns receive Metro benefits
DC Interns will be tasked to:
Assist with Staff Assistant duties, sort and log mail, answer the phone and assist
constituents, give Capitol tours, assist with legislative projects, research legislation,
draft legislative memos, and assist with communications by drafting social media posts,
and assisting with committee remarks and floor, speeches.

Topeka Interns will be tasked to:
Assist with Staff Assistant duties, answer the phone and help with constituent services, assist with legislative projects, research projects, communications, and event promotion.

Overview:
Each intern cycle consists of five developmental tracks. This includes:
  • Strategic Communications
  • Professional Development
  • Network Building
  • Legislative Research
  • Organizational Skills in the Workplace
