Spring 2024 Domestic Program Spring Intern, CEPR

The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) is currently looking for a Domestic Program Intern for Spring 2024. The internship will start in February 2024 and will end in June 2024 (the specific dates are somewhat flexible). This is a paid, full-time, remote position.

Job Description: The intern for the Domestic team at CEPR is responsible for assisting with a variety of important duties within the organization. The intern will assist with research activities related to the US economy and domestic policy. This may include some research for upcoming reports and economic opinion pieces, as well as generating website content. They may occasionally help with other tasks including communications duties such as editing website content and outreach to advocacy organizations and Congress.

The responsibilities of interns vary based on the applicant’s interests and experience, as well as the specific issues that CEPR is working on at the time.

Qualifications:
  • General understanding of economics and domestic policy, and an interest in economic justice
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Previous research and data experience is extremely helpful
  • The intern will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and should be a self-starter and independent learner

Salary & Benefits: CEPR is committed to offering an internship program that allows people from all backgrounds to participate. As such, all CEPR internships are paid and interns are eligible for reimbursement of health insurance plan costs. Interns will receive $2,910.75 per month. Up to $319.43 per month is available for health insurance plan costs.

Stanford Predoctoral Research Fellowships Available

The King Center's Predoctoral Research Fellows Program is a full-time, two-year postbaccalaureate program designed to prepare individuals for careers in academic research focused on issues related to global development. The program provides a diverse set of fellows with the opportunity to gain research experience and preparation for applications to PhD programs and doctoral studies. This multidisciplinary program operates in partnership with the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The fellowship offers tuition, health insurance, and a living stipend. Visa sponsorship is possible for successful applicants.


Predoctoral Research Fellows will have the opportunity to work directly with Stanford faculty mentors on topics including climate change, migration, and public health.

The King Center’s Predoctoral Research Fellows Program particularly encourages applications from students from low- and middle-income countries, as well as from others whose backgrounds and experience would contribute to the diversity (broadly defined) of the program. The Do Good Institute offers hands-on experiences, funding opportunities, engaging curriculum, and effective programs that prepare Terps with the skills, experiences and resources to Do Good throughout their lives.
  • Impact Interns: Looking for a paid summer internship with impact? The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, DC is seeking applicants for multiple positions in the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA). Candidates should have a BA/BS or higher degree in Economics or Accounting. Expertise in applied microeconomics fields such as finance, industrial organization, public policy, and labor is a plus. We seek individuals with a track record of creative thinking, strong empirical research abilities, team work, and excellent communication skills. Interest in finance, securities markets and public policy is essential given our mission. Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be eligible for this internship under the SEC Scholars Program:
  • You must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate at a qualifying educational institution on at least a half-time basis (as determined by the educational institution); AND
  • You must possess a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.

Experience Fund Applications are Open for Winter/Spring 2024


Apply today for BSOS Winter/Spring 2024 Undergraduate Experience Funds!

These funds assist undergraduate BSOS majors engaged in experiential learning outside the classroom, such as unpaid internships, research, service-learning, and professional or academic virtual conferences. The funds are intended to help offset expenses related to such activities including, but not limited to:
  • travel/transportation expense
  • professional attire
  • software/technology, material needs, not provided by employer/University, but essential to the experience.
  • conference fees
  • opportunity costs, (i.e. the need to give up a part-time paid job in order to take an unpaid internship.)
This year there are three awards specifically for ECON majors:

  • The Gary L. Rozier Professional Experience Fellowships for Economics Majors 
  • The Peggy Rae and John Sapienza Scholarship Fund
  • The Robert R. Satterfield Economics Student Opportunities Endowed Funds
