Amazon Economics is launching a new 2-year Economics Apprenticeship Program. This is an exciting new opportunity for undergrads or Masters students to learn in a fast-paced cutting edge environment. This new program is similar to Econ Research Assistant positions at the Fed, think tanks, and research labs with additional focus on dataset construction in big data environments, cloud computing environments and machine learning. The apprentices will learn skills that translate towards applying for a PhD program in their 2nd year of the apprentice role. This position will offer: mentorship with Economists, guidance to take supplementary coursework, and admissions coaching.
They are looking for highly-skilled and motivated individuals who are eager to work on cutting-edge research with Amazon Economists and scholars, while acquiring the research skills for PhD admissions. Economist apprentices will learn how to work with large and complicated data sets to solve real-world business problems at scale using economic methods. These are full-time positions with a set duration of 2 years, with compensation and benefits packages provided.
