The Operations Analyst Program is a competitive program that provides an opportunity for entry-level employees to both learn about the Financial Services Industry and develop the necessary professional competencies to be successful within Operations. Placement varies in accordance with business needs, with opportunities for analysts to join in January and June of each year depending on their graduation date. The program includes a three level development model, whereby analysts work closely with their managers in goal setting and career planning to achieve their individual development goals. In addition, the Analyst Program has a rotation component, allowing Analysts to experience at least two distinct roles during the program.

The Assessment Program at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) is a well-regarded organization that is growing rapidly. They are currently seeking Reporting Interns to provide assistance on score reporting projects in their Washington, DC office for the fall and winter internship programs.

Responsibilities:

Reporting Interns will work with the Score Reporting team to help conduct quality assurance on our online reporting system and our paper reports. Responsibilities include reviewing variable text for score reports in the Item Tracking System, conducting extensive quality assurance checks on state score reports and reporting back to the reporting team manager. In the process, interns will gain experience with the online delivery of educator and student reporting metrics, QCing large sets of data, and rigorous quality assurance processes. Fall Global Markets Internship with GE Capital

The internship is a semester long, part-time program in GE’s Washington, DC office. We are seeking candidates with a variety of backgrounds including business, economics, and international affairs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Researching current global issues in international funding sources and policies 
  • Attending Washington-area briefings and meetings relevant to GE 
  • Creating and editing presentation and briefing materials for the Global Markets team

Analytics Position, HR SAID

The Human Resources Systems Analytics & Information Division, HR SAID, of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are seeking a new member for their Analytics Team!

The Analytics Team provides the workforce data, analysis and related products and services that enable the organization to make better business decisions around its human capital resources. Specifically, the Analytics Team provides the NIH with workforce reporting, dashboards, advanced analytics and statistical models, project management and maintenance of custom-developed technologies, HR data management and subject matter expertise as well as surveys, interactive dashboards, and consult services for OHR and NIH.

The position is open to recent graduates (degree conferred within the past two years) and current students.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong research and analysis skills. 
  • Basic (at a minimum) statistical analysis skills in areas such as significance testing, regression and forecasting techniques, as well as experience creating graphical representations of data. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to creatively explain and discuss complex concepts. 
  • Experience with Survey design and analysis (preferred, but not required).

Economic Empowerment Program Intern with UMD's SAFE Center -- Aug. 6 Priority Deadline

The University of Maryland Support, Advocacy, Freedom, and Empowerment (SAFE) Center for Human Trafficking Survivors is the first university-based center that combines service, research, and advocacy to address the issue of human trafficking. It is an initiative of the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Maryland, Baltimore, through the MPower program. Through in-house services and collaborative partnerships, the SAFE Center provides direct social, legal, primary medical, mental health, and economic empowerment services to human trafficking survivors. We serve U.S. and foreign-born adult and child survivors of sex and labor trafficking. The SAFE Center is initially focused on Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, with a longer-term focus on the state of Maryland.

The SAFE Center opened on May 9, 2016 and is located adjacent to the College Park campus. This internship is an opportunity to assist in the development of the SAFE Center’s economic empowerment programs for trafficking survivors. Economic empowerment is a key element in restoring trafficking survivors’ independence and self-determination.
