CAREER SHUTTLE: NIAID/NIH Student Field Trip

 Join us on the Career Shuttle: A field trip to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

 Friday, March 8, 2013
1-4 p.m.

Registered students will meet on campus at 11:30 a.m., travel together on a Shuttle UM bus, and return to campus by 5 p.m.

The University Career Center & The President's Promise sponsors opportunities for students to visit employer sites in various industries. Seats on the shuttle are limited-- RSVP today!

Our tour and information session will be hosted by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). However, students will learn about career opportunities with NIAID as well as NIH as a whole.

 Students will...

Hear from a variety of top level NIAID and NIH staff members including the Deputy Director from NIAID, Staff Scientists, and Human Resources Representatives.
Enjoy a lab tour of NIAID facilities.
Learn about career opportunities in both science research and administrative functional areas.

Scientific Careers: These include positions related to working in a lab with world renowned scientists. Students majoring in the sciences, engineering, mathematics, and public health may be the most interested in this area.

 Administrative Careers: These include positions related to support functions including accounting, marketing, communication, public policy, IT, technical writing, and more. Students majoring in behavioral and social sciences, the arts, business, and information technology may be the most interested in this area.

 This field trip is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all majors. APPROPRIATE ATTIRE: Minimum attire for ALL trips is business casual unless otherwise specified.
