PhRMA, a leading trade association seeks an intern for the Policy and Research department. PhRMA represents the country’s leading research-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, which are devoted to inventing medicines that allow patients to live longer, healthier, and more productive lives.

PhRMA invests in high impact intramural, extramural, and academic research projects related to policy analysis and better use of medicines. Interns will work directly with PhRMA staff to develop and manage research protocol, monitor and organize existing research base, and tracking peer-reviewed literature. Interns will gain experience in a range of policy issues including Medicare, Medicaid, health services research, health reform, medication use and adherence, insurance benefit design, access and cost sharing, among others.

Responsibilities include research on policy issues; collection, analysis, and synthesis of data related to health policy; writing and editing of policy papers; assisting in research development and progress, management of grant proposals; tracking and summarizing literature related to policy and health services research.

Candidates should be current graduate students, recent college graduates, or current college students with a strong interest in healthy policy, economics, epidemiology, health behavior, public health, pharmacy, or communications. Strong written communication skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Experience with EndNote is encouraged. A technical background in economics, epidemiology, or health services research is a plus.

Hours: 18+ hours per week. Scheduling is flexible.
Start date: As soon as possible
Compensation: $15/hour
