The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation—a Washington, D.C.-based think tank—is seeking to hire a research assistant to contribute to work on policy issues relating to information technology (IT) and Internet policy, including copyright, cyber security, data science, digital copyright, e-government, and privacy.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Research public policy issues related to IT and the Internet
- Write policy reports, op-eds, blogs, and other materials
- Read, summarize and track relevant legislation and regulations
- Attend and summarize events and hearings relevant to policy issues
- Locate, extract, manipulate, find patterns, and draw conclusions from government data sources and private datasets
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, political science, or similar field
- Strong knowledge of computer science, technology trends, and Internet policy issues
- Excellent writing skills, especially an ability to write for policy audiences
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
