The University Career Center is offering two dynamic hour-long sessions for students to learn how to customize layout, formatting and content appropriate for a strong LinkedIn profile! After the seminar, students will have the opportunity to have their profile picture taken, followed by a guided LinkedIn profile tutorial with one of our Peer Career Educators. Take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen your online professional presence! It is strongly advised that attendees come dressed in attire that would be suitable for a professional headshot for your industry. RSVP.

Finding an Internship at the Career & Internship Fair

The Fall Career & Internship Fair is quickly approaching and now is the time to start preparing. For two days (September 17 & 18), 200+ employers will pack into The XFINITY Center (formerly Comcast Center) to recruit UMD students for full-time jobs and INTERNSHIPS. Internship Interviews: How to Stand Out from the Competition

When searching for internships, it is important to effectively articulate your experiences in an interview setting. This interactive session will help students learn about different types of interviews (in-person, phone, Skype, group, etc.) and how to effectively handle each one. We will also discuss the power in storytelling and provide an effective formula to help your story stay on track. This session is intended to be fun and provide students with an opportunity to practice! RSVP.
