The program provides actuarial and analytics technical development, business knowledge, leadership experiences, and a large supportive actuarial and analytical community for individuals interested in pursuing an actuarial and /or advanced analytics career in the property casualty industry. The program’s goal is to attract and develop high potential candidates into actuarial, analytical, and business leaders at Travelers. 

Travelers’ actuarial and analytics professionals are key partners in determining the strategies, risks, and rewards of the company. As part of the actuarial and analytics program, the AALDP gives participants challenging rotational assignments in core analytical functions across the Travelers organization, including: 
  • Predictive Modeling
  • Pricing and Ratemaking
  • Product Management
  • Reserving
  • Risk Analysis
  • Risk Segmentation
For those pursuing actuarial credentials the AALDP provides outstanding exam support in the form of study hours, a study facility, books, materials, exam fees, and bonuses. Our exam success rate significantly surpasses the national average.
 
In addition to the rotational assignments, participants will receive training which includes workshops in communication, strategic planning, and effective leadership, as well as technical and non-technical courses taught by our own actuaries and analytics professionals.

The program is based in Hartford, CT, Chicago, IL* and St. Paul, MN.
We are looking for people who want to grow into actuarial and analytics business and technical leaders.
 
Actuarial-Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Related internships/work experience helpful
  • Cumulative overall GPA of 3.2 or greater preferred
  • Scheduled, taken and/or passed one CAS/SOA exam helpful
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Extra-curricular involvement on campus or in the community
  • Demonstrated analytical, mathematical, communication, & leadership skills
  • U.S. Citizen and Permanent Resident preferred
Analytics-Requirements/Qualifications:  
  • Masters and PhD (consider strong bachelors)
  • Related internships/work experience helpful
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, R, SQL
  • Extra-curricular involvement on campus or in the community
  • Demonstrated analytical, mathematical, communication, & leadership skills
  • U.S. Citizen and Permanent Resident not required
