Entrepreneurship with Hinman CEOs
Applications
due by October 29, 2012
Hinman CEOs is
now accepting applications from freshmen and sophomores until October 29,
2012 for students
entering the Program in fall 2013. Applications are available at http://mtech.umd.edu/hinman/apply.html.
Eligibility
Applicants
must have two academic years remaining at the University to accommodate four
normal academic semesters with the Program (e.g. Fall 2013 through Spring 2015).
Students interested in applying to the Program are encouraged to live on campus
to mitigate issues with returning to on-campus housing (South Campus Commons)
after choosing to move off-campus.
Living-Learning
Environment
The
heart of the Hinman CEOs Program is the living community. All entering Hinman
CEOs students live with Program participants in South Campus Commons. This
provides maximum exposure to on-site mentors and instructors, as well as fellow
students in the Hinman CEOs Program. Exceptions to the living requirement are
limited to students studying abroad or serving as resident assistants elsewhere
on campus.
Minor in
Technology Entrepreneurship
The 15-credit
Minor in Technology Entrepreneurship is open to all University of Maryland
undergraduate students. The Minor in Technology Entrepreneurship prepares
students for launching successful technology ventures and bringing life-changing
products and services to market. The minor develops the entrepreneurial mind-set
and functional skillsets of students to improve their ability to create, launch,
and manage technology ventures. Students earn the minor by completing coursework
which focuses on entrepreneurial opportunity analysis, marketing high-technology
products, strategies for managing innovation, and international entrepreneurship
and innovation.
