ASHE - American Society of Hispanic Economists
An ASSA affiliate established in 2002

A professional association of Economists who are concerned with the under-representation of Hispanic Americans in the economics profession at a time when Hispanics represent over 16 percent of the United States' population. This organization organizing sessions and networking events at the AEA (American Economic Association) and most of the regional meetings.Members of ASHE receive alerts to important scholarship, grant and job opportunities.

ASHE Goals
  • Promoting the vitality of Hispanics in the economics profession through education, service, and excellence;
  • Promoting rigorous research on economic and policy issues affecting U.S. Hispanic communities and the nation as a whole; and
  • Engaging more Hispanic Americans to effectively participate in the economics profession.
