Entry Level Position with Social Impact for Recent Grad

The USAID Food Security Service Center (FSSC) is a five-year project managed by Social Impact. It was launched in October 2013 with the overarching goal of supporting USAID’s Bureau for Food Security (BFS) in providing a broad range of integrated and knowledge-driven technical services to FTF Missions, USAID/Washington, other USG operating units, and host country counterparts. Specific services include: state-of-the-art food security support services with a focus on program and project design and management, expert analyses, capacity building; and bridging support and/or developing small scale pilots. Position Description:

SI is seeking a Program Assistant (PA) to provide project administrative and logistical support to the Food Security Service Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to FSSC consultants
  • Process consultant expense reports in a timely, compliant manner
  • Maintain project’s monitoring and evaluation records
  • Provide editing and formatting assistance for quarterly and annual reports
  • Monitor and draft consultant contract modifications
  • Set up, populate, and maintain vendor and consultant files
  • Prepare and process travel advances for FSSC consultants and employees
  • Assist in the monthly reconciliation of project credit card
  • Collect and keep files of project financial documents
  • Under the supervision of FSSC Senior Program Manager, monitor program financials
  • Other tasks, as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Open to entry-level applicants
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Development, Economics, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Accounting/Finance
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required
  • Ability to follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Solid knowledge of PC-based word processing and desktop publishing applications
